There is a lot of issues with their mentality in general.

There is just no way Ross Barkley should have turned down Chelsea imo. It was just him admitting he doesn't see himself at that level. I've actually seen that move praised by some press. No Chelsea player is guaranteed to start apart from Courtouis, Azpi, Kante, and Hazard imo. What's more Barkley didn't always start for Everton.

The press reported it as he should somehow be credited.

Barkely actually would have been protected by the media at Chelsea and likely just joined Soton or whoever after a few years or even a Chelsea rival if anyone actually wanted him.

That's the major thing with these overhyped, young English players. They won't go where they aren't guaranteed playing time.

A man like Drinkwater who has had to fight his way into carving out a decent footballing career sees the fight at Chelsea and embraces it. Same with Cahill who came from a relegated championship Bolton and fought his way into the starting line up.

Ox and Barkley are coddled types who really need assurances and at Chelsea there is none. 50m can get you stuck on bench (Torres) 40m will get you sent back to where you came from (Filipe Luis)

Whereas clubs like Spurs and Liverpool will be obligated to play Ox and Barkley even though neither are clear cut better than any current starter at Liverpool or Spurs.

Why the **** are top clubs interested in Barkley? he looks fairly talented on his day (which is rare) for an English footballer but has done nothing..

English football is in the gutter.. look at all these hot prospects.. Wilshere.. Ox.. Walcot.. Barkley.. Sterling

It just reflects so badly on their character but Sterling for his part has shown ambition. I just don't think he's that good.

It is not like one of us getting a promotion, usually the job completely changes. All that changes for them is more eyes are on them for games. I don't blame Ox btw, Liverpool inexplicably are still a globally huge club.

Another point, I listened to phone in the other day and the host said Arsenal were everyone's '2nd team' some Liverpool fan rang in immediately and told him Liverpool were everyone's second favourite team.
