One thing to remember was that Cooper was a cruiserweight fighting in the heavyweight division. He had heavyweight power but did not have the skill set of say, Holyfield or Moorer.

The most accomplished heavy ever, based on the number of fights he's had?

You rate him far too highly. Let him show a little something first. He beat Klitschko, sure, but Tyson Fury beat him first.

- -18 fights, umpteen title defenses, unified, and cleaned out Haymon's heavywt stable much like Hercules did back in the day.

Not saying AJ the best ever, but rather the best at 18 fights. Six more defenses and he can retire rich beyond compare and easily in the all time Top 5.

Not a given , but who can really give him a tussle? Could be just a simple slip up or a failed lifestyle choice. Has to deal with hundreds of backslappers and hundreds of women throwing themselves at him.

Easy to be distracted , the fall of hundreds of heavy talents who never panned out.

- -Moorer excellent skill level, not nearly so Mr Field.

Didn't have the mentality for it, hence his plodding face first style.

Another good punch or two and Holy would have been done.
Very painful way to go... RIP champ.

No ill will towards a good solid fighter who was a handful on any given day...But let us not confuse pigeons and eagles.

Pigeons in the '90s could easily be eagles today. In my opinion.

"Mr. Field" had a great skill set early on as displayed in the first Qawi fight and as he rose to heavyweight. Some say he fell in love with punching or the knockout. But he did become more of a brawler as he went along.

Moore was exceptionally skilled. Was known within the gym community as being a king of the hill so to speak. Just had to keep him together mentally. The Moore that fought the bastard maker the first time to me belonged on a short list of light heavies.

The bastard maker had two essential heavyweight personalities: The coachable boxer puncher with excellent endurance and powerful combos... Or, a head hunter who wanted the KO.

- -Mike Spinks quite easily painted the masterpiece on a prime Qawi.

Field went his own life and death disaster against a tubby Qawi. Big deference btw the two.
