Boxing fans dont care about drug testing or failed tests. They do, however, care when a fighter they don't like or a fighter who's a rival of the fighter they like fails a drug test. It's just fanboy back-and-forth behavior.

Evan Rutowski touched on it when Mannix started going off on his podcast a few weeks ago. He said "If you're a fan of a team and someone on the team fails a drug test, you don't go 'Oh man I can never watch them again' or something, you say 'Damn, we need him on Sunday'"

Its boxing writers job to try and make people care about a guy failing a test, but 99.9% of people simply dont.

Not even 2 years ago 2 players NCAA football players died on the same weekend one directly from an injury on the field the other from heat exhaustion. Over 35 NCAA football players have died since 2000. Something like 10+ high school players die a year.

                  Uh huh

Roy Jones, evander holyfield, saul Alvarez......

How many fans of these guys care that they failed a test?

Now how many cared just because floyd brought it up?

Even though before, floyd didnt do anything but basic tests either?

If you can't understand the difference in concern between people playing with a ball vs people punching each other in the face for 36 minutes, I don't know what tell you...

They complain because Drug testing isnt done uniformly under 1 board. The fact that all state commissions have different rules and regulations. The fact that the U.S. doesnt have a federal commission that would institute universal guidelines/laws that would regulate boxing throughout the United States.

I kind of went a little overboard..
