  • Boxing would be much better off if Mayweather had stayed retired

We have missed too many great fights that had alot of hype behind them

    Mayweather vs Cotto

    Mayweather vs Margarito

    Mayweather vs Pacquiao

The problem is he's great at promoting himself and has many people fooled into thinking he's the man to beat. HBO gives him way too much attention. If he wasn't around we'd be seeing top ranked guys fighting other top ranked guys. Not someone who got ranked there with his mouth. Mosley was the first WW Floyd has fought since 2006. Save the 21 month layoff. Pathetic. The WW before Mosley was Carlos Baldomir. That's crap.

Exactly. People love Mayweather. I don't care what they say. He's great for the sport.

Respectfully, these wouldn't have been great fights. Hatton, Gatti, ODH, Mosley were SUPPOSED to be great fights too. At some point, no matter how much you dislike floyd, you have to acknowledge that every fighter he faced has looked bad. The fighter who looked the best against floyd, Castillo, LOST 16-19 of 24 rds against him.

Just because these guys are promoted by top rank doesn't mean they would have made great fights against floyd.

Well it could go like this

          Pac didnt fight Marg
          Pac didnt fight Mosley
          Pac didnt fight Berto
          Pac didnt fight Marquez III

          or

          Cotto didnt fight Williams
          Mosley didnt fight Williams
Marg didnt avenge defeat against Williams

I don't see how it makes a difference, honestly

Its not as if Floyd affects every weight division, Boxing is doing great at the moment, particularly the 140 division

I agree unless the Pac fight gets signed, then it was worth it.

Really? Because all I saw were Pac threads with the occasional ***** begging him to come back...and to each of those there was a good riddance thread to follow.
