I cant believe people here are hating on HC. I am not a Communist, I am a democratic socialist. I believe in the free market with LIMITS. I feel key industries should be state run but outside of that a free market.

I am a card carrying Labour Party member, not a communist. I value equality, justice, people power and above all order and organization. Energy, communications*, heavy industries, education, healthcare, law, defence and so on should be state run.

Other areas can be left to the market, with possible private alternatives in fields marked with a *.

what do you propose a state with a capitalist history, like the united states, does in the advent of already having privatized most of the industries you've mentioned?

Nationalize them so that they can be run for the benefit of the people and not for profit. You know in the UK much of our education, healthcare et al are state owned and we do pretty well.

The free market in my vision is still pretty big, it encompasses retail, property and real estate businesses, FMCG, entertainment - and as noted maybe even access to some areas like telecoms and stuff. Just the core industries central to a state should be in national trust: energy, defence, transport, communication (a state operator must exist even in a free market. We have BT, but we also have loads of other options).
