I mean he got arrogant talking about $50m. He made a mistake by talking about money he didn't think Haymon/Showtime would come up with due to Wilders lack of draw power.

In doing so he gave them a chance to win a point when it comes to PR, and it gives an excuse for Wilders blind followers to talk about the $50m Joshua would get as opposed to the $15m that Wilder would get.

Ok, so the $50M was just arrogance, bravado, and posturing, rather than a legitimate bargaining point

        I'd say so.

If AJ hadn't said that, Wilder and his fanboys would have no excuses to hide behind right now. It was a bad PR move by AJ and Haymon capitalised on it by taking the risk of potentially lowballing him with 50/50 in foreign territory.

If AJ hadn't said that, Wilder would have no excuses right now not to fight. His fans might even be questioning him. But now he can hide for a while and fight the next bum.

That's why AJ is being more selective about what he says. It's smart rather than arrogant as he was before.

People are forgetting that Finkel's $50million offer came with a 24 hour take it or leave it deadline and he refused to give Hearn any info or details about it.

It was a bull**** PR stunt and nothing more.

And before any Wilder fan boys jump in with, "Hearn has admitted the $50million was there doe .."

Hearn admitted no such thing. He said he accepted that the fight would make more money in the US than in the UK, which is a different thing altogether, and doesn't mean that AJ would be guaranteed to pick up $50million for it.

Ortiz chose another path because they wouldn't choose him. He would have gladly stepped in Takam's shoes. Hell, even most fans knew Pulev would puss out like he did the year before.

They couldn't choose him, Takam was ranked 3 with the IBF and was next in line when Pulev pulled out.

All Ortiz had to do was wait and take the WBA mandatory. Hearn would probably have had him out on the undercard to build him in the same way he did with Povetkin.

on side is taking less to make this fight next year and at home. they hid behind dillian white, lowball offers, and now they're hiding behind a very convenient mandatory to push off the biggest fight in boxing!

that is what it is, you guys are completely delusional or don't understand that this is prize fighting, and boxers themselves don't make decisions like that. eddie hearn does not want this fight next. eddie hearn does not want this fight in the US. we know this because he's turned down more than he's indicating his fighter will make at home.

                he's either a liar, or he's lying
You calling other people delusional is hilarious.
