AMC Developing Goodfellas TV Series

I just don't see any way this project doesn't fall flat on it's pathetic face.

1.) "Goodfellas" was an instant classic when it was released, and in the nearly 22 years since it's release, it's become even more widely regarded and beloved.

2.) WTF is the point in even trying to do another mafia related project, anyway? On the big screen, it's been done to ****ing death. And on the small screen, you're only going to draw comparisons to "The Sopranos" - Universally recognized as one of the greatest television dramas of all time.

This idea makes about as much sense as marrying a stripper.

they should have it on showtime or hbo. but even then, don't bring back the goodfellas storyline with the same characters and all, make something new.

I wouldn't be opposed to a new Gangster/Mobster show on HBO or Showtime.
But they really shouldn't be milking The Goodfellas name. I don't see how they can bring back the same characters and expand on the original storyline.
