I don't think it will be long before we see men and women competing in the ring against one another. Shields, Rousey, etc. Exhibitions between boxers and wrestlers were promoted going back to the early part of the 20th century. It picked up a lot of steam in the 50's, and saw a revival in the 70's when Ali performed some exhibitions against Gorilla Monsoon and other popular wrestlers. Mayweather appeared on WWE to fight the Big Show. I can see more of those type of scenarios unfolding for fighters who are trying to market themselves or find alternative sources of income if they aren't making the big bucks in the boxing ring.

Celebrity exhibitions could generate big revenue...Mark Wahlberg and other celebrities who dabble with boxing in their workouts may consider an exhibition. Or entice some big names from other sports to get in the ring for an exhibition...Lebron vs. AJ or Wilder, Gronkowski vs. Fury.

With CGI technology I'm sure someone can create boxing matches that would feature Ray Robinson vs. Tommy Hearns, or Joe Louis vs. Ali.

- -Been tons of celebrity matches, not the least being Ali getting mullered by Lyle Alzado in a tragic bout.

China a big wwe star got herself KOed by some jerk of a man only prominent for his abuse of women.

Jerkoff Jose Canseco suffered a 1st rd humiliation by a 5-9 Samoan, a former nfl waterbug type halfback who had become a sports announcer.

One of Slick Willys women who after a decade of Slick denial obtained a settlement for sexual harassment while he was gov in Arkansas was in at least one celebrity bout.

Forgot her name, Tonya something, maybe Harding who hired a thug, maybe her BF to break the leg of that Olympic skating gold medalist had a number of bouts.

And so on and so on.

I've been saying for years that boxing with MMA gloves should be a thing & would be a great hybrid arena for boxers vs MMA guys cuz defense isn't as much of a thing when you got those lil ass gloves on & the superficial damage that's more likely to occur with those gloves could lead to their being more variance with outcomes. I guess the re-birth of BK boxing is kinda that already doe.

I also standby VR fighting to the death (& sports specifically) being a thing in 30-50 years probably cuz boxing & fighting is too dangerous a activity for us as a species to keep doing with as PC & safe as things have been steering towards in recent decades. The whole rise of eSports is only going to get bigger & more crazy with what they'll be able to do when VR comes into play.

- -Baseball theory is heavily dependent on base stats that don't reflect the official scoreboard.

Bill James, not the As was the guru who took the base stats further, but he never weaned himself off base stats, and in fact concocts magic numbers introduced into complex equations that he adjusts to fix the outcome to his expectations.

In short, alchemy where his intuition made for a more advanced strategy than the average rotating cast of ham handed managers can do. He got a great assist by rule changes that have not fully been developed yet. More rule changes make his system obsolete.

Guaranteed John McGraw would easily outmanage any modern wunderkind in a traditional BB game and Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Ted Williams would out produce any other players in history in run production.

Do you realize a short pitch reliever wit a losing record and not even with enough career innings pitched to qualify for the yearly Cy Young award was elected to the HOF?

Money Fraud, it's what moderns are swallowing hook, line, and sinker these days!

Your all over the place... referring to many different things... The moneyball guys came out of the A's organization, not all of them but a lot of them...The original stat that was challenged had to do with trying to make "clutch hitting" statistically valid. I agree with the conclusion came to: namely that on base percentage was a great indication for clutch hitting performance.

This is one of many, the challenge was to make statistics relevant to performance outcomes...What this has to do with shorty Mcgraw, who was a sociopath BTW and how he managed shows your disorganized mind. Billy Martin would out manage most... One of the best baseball minds, and scrappy!

And again who knows what you are on about...A reliever has a different role but as usual you give a paucity of information and expect people to know where your rambling is going.

REgarding TEd Williams...indeed one of the best natural hitters, maybe the best. Rod Carew was also one of the best natural hitters but not like Williams.
