How so many Americans enjoy watching baseball I'll never know. Absolute borefest of a game.

NBA Finals are on May 30 and June 2.
NYY vs. Sox will be game 3 (thus not a novelty), and will end before the main event of Miller vs. Joshua (1915 start).

Only thing he's risking is live attendance, however most people who were considering going to a boxing match wouldn't change their plans to goto a baseball game.

no they're risking exposure in the US which is the entire reason that they chose to fight in New York instead of in England

Of course the fight will sell out, that's not the point

On any other weekend, the Joshua/Miller fight would have dominated the sports talk in New York for the entire weekend. Now it will just get mentioned AFTER they talk about the Yankees/Red Sox

I can't say it's exciting to watch on TV but it's much better in person.

Lol NYC is ****ing huge, 1 game in the Bronx in the middle of the season won't be a huge deterrent. NBA finals game is much more detrimental to the potential viewing audience for the fight.

Edit: And apparently the finals games are on Friday and Sunday, so no, there won't be any major problems for this card determined by other sports

It is not going to matter. It will sale and it is going to get attention. All events do even when they overlap each other. It is not like those baseball fans are all boxing fans.

Hey, I'm a red sox fan and I live in the Boston area. We have 162 games in a baseball season and while the Sox-Yankees rivalry is of course huge, it's not something that can't be skipped to see a big fight.

You're over estimating the importance of one single baseball game compared to a big heavyweight fight. Besides, the Brits are gonna come to NY in flocks to see Joshua and see NY, they wont be hurting for fans at the event.

I can definitely understand enjoying it in person for the overall experience. But as a watch on TV sport it's tedious.
