Default History of Watching Big Fights

The history in a nutshell is making fights harder to see, as in more expensive. Now they've added more trouble to the list, as well, as far as I am concerned.

As an old fart, I am sure I am not alone. I do not stream. I do not know how or care to learn how. I do not want to have to buy a new TV that is so-called SMART, or whatever it takes.

There was a day when I had to drive 200+ miles sometimes to watch a big fight on what they called closed circuit TV. The remote viewing event was usually held in a large auditorium. Yeah, that was a hassle. It still does not stand up to buying new equipment.

I am not real tech savvy here--I do not have time. Perhaps I am missing something. They seem to have made it harder to watch a big fight than it was just a couple of years ago, invented new hassles, I mean.

Sorry, I am not into chasing technology every time I want to watch another fight. Simple PPV was better than the crap that is going on now, unless I am misunderstanding something.

Is there extra hassle now?

Its pretty easy. Almost every TV now is a smart TV. I stream off my computer though, but my computer screen is a 50 inch TV.

Well, do what I just did with the Wilder fight.

Fly to see the fight. It was enjoyable - an event - but damn it was over fast.

Bummed out I can't do the same for the Joshua fight.

I am fairly certain the computer you are using to post on here can get most any app (DAZN, ESPN+, Showtime Anytime, etc.) So you don't necessarily need to use the smart tv.

I get you not wanting to chase technology, I can be somewhat of a luddite myself, but I imagine there were similar discussions when closed circuit came about, PPV became more prevalent, etc.

FWIW, I often still drive down to a nearby casino which shows pretty much every fight for not too much money. You might try looking around for that option.

Your PC and any browser I'm sure is capable of streaming through the ESPN website and DAZN website.

Yeah, that's what I usually do and for wrestling with the WWE network. Or you can still go to your local bar/tavern/pub, which usually orders big fights where you can order a meal and drinks while you watch. I sometimes still order a DVD copy of a fight too, so I know it will play and not cut out on me while I'm watching. Even though it's not live, I don't mind because I can skip ahead and avoid finding out results if I want.

- -Been with DAZN from inception, 10 bucks a month hits the sweet spot.

After 20 yrs of pushing streaming over the corrupt cable/PPV industry, it's here, but like all good things I can see the suits getting greedy and ruining everything.

A big fight is also less likely to get made now in a timely manner than at any time previous in my memory.

Now, lads, I have tried streaming fights as a last minute desperation measure before on the computer, but for some reason it never worked. I don't know if the sites I tried were illegal. How do you know that detail, for instance? How are you supposed to find an illegal streaming site, to begin with? Maybe I can learn something useful here.

They always want you to sign up for some of their garbage, right? So it is never quite free?
