I think it’s something that all parties need to really sit down and figure out.
I’m not an expert on healthcare or the taxes it cost, but I have lived overseas and experienced a great difference in cost and service.

Example: I had a deep cut on my knee from playing soccer, the cut needed to be washed, disinfected and stitched. With insurance I paid 400 bucks. No clue what it would have been without. The emergency room was crowded I spent I don’t know how long waiting, and holding my knee to stop the bleeding.

When I lived in Asia, (South Korea or Japan can’t remember exactly the country the incident happened in) but anyway, I had an alcohol related accident that broke my pinky finger and sliced a deep cut that required stitches. My out pocket was like 15 bucks, and most of that went to the pain pills given to me. They saw me in literally 15 minutes.

Now I get that one was a knee and another a finger but still.

True, but it also negates the pro-universal/Government health care argument that "its affordable in Europe".

That's a tough boat to be in.

What were you guys paying before Obamacare?

Every single developed country has universal care, and it hasn't bankrupted them or let their people die in the streets, on the contrary the only people going bankrupt are the ones in the USA who can't afford healthcare. If we are spending 18% of our GDP on healthcare and not even covering everyone and those that we cover many have poor health insurance, compared to France who spend 11% of their GDP on health insurance and everyone is covered and they love it, then there is a huge problem, its sheer lunacy.
Proud of you, Jim.

They also retire quite early as well.

It's a recipe for disaster, that anyone with basic Math skills and intellectual honesty can see.

between the yellow vest protests and the decrepit state of French cities, all you really need is a working set of eyeballs.

Its because for every $10 spent on healthcare in the US, $7 of that goes to big insurance, Pharma and hospital profits and $3 goes on the cost of treatments.

Some people would still rather pay that than pay $4 and have $1 of that cover poor people, while millionaires pay $50.

When i was last working i paid $1700 a year on $85k earrings. For that everyone is completely covered for pretty much everything.

I had meningitis 2 years ago and was rushed to hospital, transferred 3 times and in hospital for 10 days including 3 in ICU and had nurses come to my house for a week after twice a day to give me antibiotics in a drip and it cost be $0 in total .
