  • In '03, Morales stands a better chance of beating Floyd

I remember once having open up a possibility of this match up, Floyd Mayweather vs Erik Morales when El terrible was on top of his game.

In 2003, both men didn't fought any significant opponent, with Morales scoring his last KO victory, a rematch with Gudy Espadas while Floyd, a year before coming off two decision victories over Jose Luis Castillo, faced no-name opponents, Sosa and N'dou.

That year, Morales never thought of Manny Pacquiao yet as a future rival, so how would Mayweather at 135lbs deal with a 126-130 pound Erik Morales, who would boost a record of 42-1, splitting two fights with Barrera, if they fight around that time, cosidering the problems Castillo gave Floyd in their first encounter, Morales was a lot better boxer than Castillo.

And even now, Morales is still officially the last man to beat Manny Pacquiao, I'm not talking about the El terrible of 2005-present as he doesn't stand a chance over "Money" but the Morales of 2000-2003.
