Bernie Sanders Wants Prisoners To Have The Ability To Vote In Our Elections

What do you guys think about this, murderers, sex offenders, thieves, and all sort of other wrongdoers being able to vote while in prison?

I could already see the Democrats pandering to them as I write this.

"Raise the minimum wage in prison to a living prison wage, so that our brothers and sisters who are incarcerated have the ability to purchase atleast a pack of cigarettes a day!"

This has always been the bread and butter of the Democrat party.

Their policies are broadly unappealing in nonpartisan polling. They can't just run on the slogan "more federal authority, more military intervention, higher taxes, more imported slave labor!". People do not like those things at face value. Left or right, people they nail very few positions of public appeal.

So they

1. Leverage diversionary topics like crossdressing & feminism to bait the opposition & paint themselves as civil rights liberators (all policy discussion goes out the window and moderates don't want to be seen as a ____phobe, so they abstain entirely from voting).

2. Create new voter bases by dangling carrots to previously ineligible groups:

- Open borders & no IDs
- Dropping the voting age to 16
- Voting for felons

I have no problem with prisoners voting, provided that they are citizens.

The US has a really weird idea about incarceration. Americans, who call themselves patriots, push for ever higher incarceration rates - even though they are already the highest in the world. Then they demonise those who go to prison.

So what are you - the land of the free, or the country with the highest incarceration rate? You can't be both - and only one of those is patriotic.

Every person I know who is in prison right now, none was in for drugs.

Most were in for murder, some were attempted murder, one is in for child molestation.
