      Hard to find Japanese author around here you know.

        I've read lots of Japanese authors.
        In praise of shadows is an excellent tanizaki short story

          I had my phase on Japanese authors. I bounce from continent to continent..Africa to Europe and Asia.....
          Now I'm on old ones...I got Zola and Flaubert on my to read shelf.

            Yeah, I do that at times. Right now, I try to find free audiobooks online and listen before sleeping.
            Used to listen to the BBC's plays etc.

                      I read it when it initially came out. I think that was 1996 or so. I really didn't know what to make of it at the time but I read it again in 2012 and it was different. It's a massive book, so many characters and plotlines. Worth a read though.
