I gained respect even though AJ took it easy on him ,bc Ruiz is a real tough fighter for the AJ style ,but it was a clear win....the joker called Wilder said Ruiz didn't execute certain things but the joker WILDER didn't dare show us himself right ?????lmao

He gained respect from me for being able to adapt, change himself and demonstrate some solid skills. But at the same time I hope he doesn't employ this style all the time from now on. It takes the thrill out of the fight.

This was a strictly business fight and I understand, he tried to bang before and got starched. Now if he goes into his next couple of fights with this same game plan I’ll lose respect.

I definitely gained respect for Joshua. Although I wasn't really surprised, he has the best resume of the current top HWs and an Olympic gold medal, there is no doubt he can box so I don't know why anyone would be overly surprised when he does just that, he followed an obvious game plan pretty much perfectly, but in saying that you never know how someone will react to adversity so it was interesting to see how little effect it seemed to have on him.
I actually though at times he had to fight his natural urge to stand and trade, he did it though which is not necessarily easy at times and I guess shows he is still willing to learn and be disciplined. |
