Cell Phones DO cause brain cancer

Considering that this is the first generation to begin using cellphones so frequently I suspect its gonna take a while to get definitive results. But radiation does cause cancer and cell phones emit radiation.

Thats a fact.

To begin with you should define "radiation". Specifically what radiation is emitted by cell phones and by what mechanism they cause cancer. You could also conduct studies which correlate cellphone use with higher rates of the specific cancer you would expect from the type of radiation given off by mobile phones.

In other words you should be looking for evidence that this is the case, not just saying "Well it stands to reason doesn't it!"

As for Jenny McCarthy, she's also right. The vaccines are loaded with cancer causing agents and are terrible for children.

Jenny McCarthy doesn't say that vaccines cause cancer, she says they cause Autism. Again by unknown mechanisms and not supported by any actual data.

No amount of vaccine industry or cell phone industry funded studies is gonna change these facts.

Here's the thing ... for every scientific study side A presents to support the possibility that cell phones cause cancer, Side B can produce an equal amount of data to support that it doesn't.

The scientists? Larry King had a man with cancer who is suing cell phone companies and his lawyer.

We now welcome, to begin things on this major discussion on cell phones, Dr. Chris Newman. He's in our studios in New York. He has brain cancer and is suing a cell phone maker and a telecommunications company, claiming they caused the cancer. Joanne Suder, his attorney, is also with him. We'll spend the opening portions of the program with them and then a major panel discussion on all this.

Dr. Newman, how do you know they caused it?

DR. CHRIS NEWMAN, FILED CELL PHONE CANCER SUIT: I believe they caused it. I'd like to defer on that question to my attorney, Joanne Suder.

Later on they had a panel made up of an epidemiologist who thought that cellphones cause cancer, two scientists who point out that there is no evidence for it and a man who unsuccessfully sued a cell phone company ten years ago.

No you're dead wrong - Companies that sell, market and provide service for cell phones have the most to lose if a negative determination is ever made. Therefore, they are always the first to finance research to support a determination in their favor to offset pending legal challenges. And it is not beyond reality, that results can be fabricated to favor a particular sponsor. It won't be the first time this has happened and it won't be the last.

Who has the most to lose IF, a final medically based determination is made public. "That cellphones cause brain cancer" The cell phone providers!!!!!!

So, they are going to fight tooth and nail to inject as much doubt into the discussion, as humanly possible. Because if they don't then they will have mounting lawsuits by the millions, which would ultimately ruin every company involved in distributing that technology.

This isn't checkers, this is chess!!!!

And the multi-national companies are playing for keeps, because all it takes is one precedent setting case to be won by a single consumer to set off an unprecedented avalanche of legal lawsuits.

But of course - you would like for the normal joe to believe there is no danger, its fabricated, its a conspiracy!!!!!

Cancer center director warns of cell phone risks
PITTSBURGH - The head of a prominent cancer research institute issued an unprecedented warning to his faculty and staff Wednesday: Limit cell phone use because of the possible risk of cancer.

The warning from Dr. Ronald B. Herberman, director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, is contrary to numerous studies that don’t find a link between cancer and cell phone use, and a public lack of worry by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Herberman is basing his alarm on early unpublished data. He says it takes too long to get answers from science and he believes people should take action now — especially when it comes to children.

Long-term use of cellular phones and brain tumours: increased risk associated with use for ≥10 years

Abstract

Aim: To evaluate brain tumour risk among long-term users of cellular telephones.

Methods: Two cohort studies and 16 case–control studies on this topic were identified. Data were scrutinised for use of mobile phone for ≥10 years and ipsilateral exposure if presented.

Results: The cohort study was of limited value due to methodological shortcomings in the study. Of the 16 case–control studies, 11 gave results for ≥10 years’ use or latency period. Most of these results were based on low numbers. An association with acoustic neuroma was found in four studies in the group with at least 10 years’ use of a mobile phone. No risk was found in one study, but the tumour size was significantly larger among users. Six studies gave results for malignant brain tumours in that latency group. All gave increased odd ratios (OR), especially for ipsilateral exposure. In a meta-analysis, ipsilateral cell phone use for acoustic neuroma was OR = 2.4 (95% CI 1.1 to 5.3) and OR = 2.0, (1.2 to 3.4) for glioma using a tumour latency period of ≥10 years.

Conclusions: Results from present studies on use of mobile phones for ≥10 years give a consistent pattern of increased risk for acoustic neuroma and glioma. The risk is highest for ipsilateral exposure.

Bias affects cell phone cancer risk findings

(PhysOrg.com) -- A group of South Korean and American researchers has found studies of possible links between cell phones and brain tumors and other cancers vary in quality, and those suggesting there is little or no risk may have some bias.

The scientists were from the National Cancer Center in Goyang, South Korea, the Seoul National University Hospital, Ewha Womans University and the University of California in Berkeley. The team carried out a meta-analysis of 23 published epidemiological studies, covering a total of 37,916 people who had been investigated to determine if there was a link between cell phones and cancer.

The findings of the analysis, published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, were that the results of the studies varied widely, depending on who carried out and funded the research and what controls they had in place for bias and errors.

The researchers, led by Dr. Seung-Kwon Myung, divided the studies into "high quality" if the research blinded subjects of the study to bias (because the researchers did not know which subjects had tumors when they did their interviews), and "low quality" if the research did not counter bias, or if it was funded by the mobile phone industry.
