Kurbick is the GOAT man, it all comes down to who's second best.

Nolan, Ridley, and Fincher are my favorite directors today but there's so many it's hard to say who's the best. I'm a huge fan of directors, I don't even care about the actors all that much.

David Fincher is probably the only guy Id add to this poll.

Ridley makes too many duds to be in the same class with the others.

oh, i remember posting in this thread...

just watched kubrick's 2001 space odyssey recently... the thing never loses it's power even after years of repeated viewings...

it is so picturesque... like ras****n before it, every frame of every scene in that film is poster worthy...

and yeah, i see sergio leone gets quite underrated in this thread... the guy was a master...

              Horror/thriller: The Shining

I even enjoyed his worst movie: Eyes wide shut which is better than 90% of most films out there.
Apparently I'm the only person who's seen Barry Lyndon, one of the funniest films ever (almost no one realizes it's a comedy).

tarantino is good using music indeed...

but he is like a junior compared to sergio leone in this regard...

cameron crowe also deserves a mention...

No doubt most of the people posting on this subject would rather be subjected to two or three hours of a James Cameron film moreso than they would two or three hours of a Stanley Kubrick film.
