Havent seen that yet. I'll try to get a copy.

Its a brutal war that's for sure.

          Bad business reopening old grievances:

If it had been a fair and honorable fight, we'd recall it safely, as
the US and UK treat the American revolution. Unfortunately, a
lot of barbarity was commited by both sides (much more the US
than PH) in the "Philippine Insurrection" and it was all born of a
betrayal by the US, which had come in ostensibly to help Pinoys
win their independence, but turned around and began reducing
          them to subjects anew.

The US chose to call it an "insurrection" to bolster their claim of
sovereignty: Washington essentially bought the Philippines from
Spain, at the end of the Spanish-American War.
We were allies at the beginning today.

          Just got backstabbed.

Once the Spanish surrendered and gave philippines to them.

Well...... can't give up a prize right?

          Different age, different time.

          Things were different back then.

Most Americans didn't know what was going on.

They thought philippines were like tribal aborigines who weren't civilized and they were trying to "civilize" us.

Most didn't know a lot of philippines was hispanicized, catholic, civilized.

They treated us like we were the Indians tbh.

I remember seeing old propaganda cartoons and Filipinos were portrayed wearing feathers and shiet. Lol

I know the Philippine military is pro us and don't like Duterte pro china views?

I read during the stuff down south with maute/isis, the military brought in us troops but Duterte never approved it/knew?

I believe that war caused the US military to abandon the .38 cal side arm, as it lacked the stopping power needed to drop an angry Filipino with a machete. The .45 colt was the solution, many a Filipino freedom fighter felt the added stopping power of that round.
