Of course it may not be enough! For ****s sake, what has become of NSB? Lately it seems like every champion is talked about as a possible HOFer.

HOFers are the greatest champions in history. They are the very best of the best and in each era only a small few could, and should be considered as HOFers. This is the Robinsons, Armstrongs, Durans, Leonard's, Ali's, and Charles' we're talking about.

They are, for today's guys, the Hopkins', the Pacs, the Marquez', Morales' and Mayweathers. The Jones Jrs and Toneys, the Holyfields and Barreras. They are ****ing not, and never will be, the Paulies and Margaritos and Pavliks, the Johnson's and Dawson's.

      Paulie .... HOF ...

Maybe if he knocks out Floyd Mayweather after first having beaten Pacquiao, Mosley and Cotto.

Then I'd say he'd be a hall of famer.

and he'd have to go back 5 years in time.

No, it's not. The HOF is to celebrate the ATGs of the sport and give them recognition as ATGs and for what they meant and did for this sport. It is specifically set up to recognise the ATGs of the sport. That's all.

There are some ATGs who are not quite up to those standards, but they are still major standouts and among the absolute greatest champions our sport has ever seen from each period. Sadly, a few weird ones have snuck through, but that shouldn't mean we just dilute it further with any old guy.

Paulie isn't even a good champion for today. He's just a regular contender who has held some paper titles and has never once been the top guy in his division. That is no different to what was 40 years ago, a standard top ten contender who never won a title. Would you call a standard top ten contender, with a few good wins, from 40 years ago a HOFer? ****ing no and you'd laugh at anyone suggesting it.

If he has a long career in commentating, then he might for that, but certainly not for his boxing.

Barring a victory over Pac or Floyd, I don't see any realistic way Paulie makes the HOF.

                  you kno your ****!

                  my order:

-great :fighters with great ability but not great resume e.g. golovkin
                  - elite : p4p top 5 e.g. ward
                  - HOF :accomplishments, contribution e.g. calzaghe
                  - ATG: outstanding ability e.g. roy jones
                  - legendary: iconic status e.g. sugar ray leonard, pacquaio
                  - Ali: Muhammed Ali for exceptional contribution in raising the profile of the sport and exceptional contribution outside the ring.

paulie is honestly not very good. he's never even beaten a b-level fighter in his career. his best wins are lovemore ndou, juan diaz moving up, zab judah, and bumchenko. he's lost to basically every b-level fighter and up. in the "old-n-dayz" he wouldn't be a champ and i doubt he would even be able to work his way up to a title shot. his ability to land an infinite amount of title shots is impressive though.
