I don't even remember the last time PR won that title.

And in the major leagues, PR is almost nonexistent.
If you talking about the Caribbean Series.
    Puerto Rico has 14 titles
    Venezuela has 7
Last time we won was in 2000
Venezuela last win was in 2009

In 2008 Puerto Rico failed to field a team for the series due to a one-year hiatus in their professional winter league.

And if you did not know about this series. The teams that play in this series could have players from different countries. A Puerto Rican team could have a Mexican player in their teams.

The World Baseball Classic is better if you going to compare. Venezuela got 1 win over Puerto Rico.

    Eligibility rules

A player is eligible to participate on a World Baseball Classic team if:

    * The player is a citizen of the nation the team represents.
    * The player is qualified for citizenship or to hold a passport under the laws of a nation represented by a team, but has not been granted citizenship or been issued a passport, then the player may be made eligible by WBCI upon petition by the player or team.
    * The player is a permanent legal resident of the nation or territory the team represents.
    * The player was born in the nation or territory the team represents.
    * The player has one parent who is, or if deceased was, a citizen of the nation the team represents.
    * The player has one parent who was born in the nation or territory the team represents

The myth of Europeans about baseball. For about the thousandth time, baseball is played by A LOT of countries. It may not be soccer but baseball is huge in latin american and is also big in the asian countries. Hockey is also very global. I'm not sure why many people don't get this. The only sport that isn't global is American Football. To say baseball isn't played by many is laughable. It isn't played in Europe(minus holland), that's about it.

You could say that but it's mainly in the central america and northern south america(could be an area thing). Look at Venezula for example, tons of ball players from there.

You look at the all time gold glove winners in baseball by position, and you will notice how of 7 positions in baseball (outfield counts as one), 3 positions have a puerto rican with the most gold gloves, no other position has a latin american at the top. Closest one is venezuelan Omar Vizquel with 11 at SS making him second.

There hasnt been another latin american player as good as Clemente or Pudge Rodriguez.

Every dominican player who we think was better than these players has been found out two use steriods or cheat some other way(Sosa).

Right now puerto rican baseball appears to be dying a slow death, but our history in the Majors still stand, and for the first time in history, to puerto ricans where selected in the Top 10 of the 2011 draft, so we still have life.

Also volleyball is not an US sport, last time I checked, they dont even have a volleyball league.

In fact some of the US NT players have played in the puerto rican league.

Top 5 countries in this sport are

                    Brazil
                    Poland
                    Bulgaria
                    Russia
                    US

Russia and Brazil have been the most consistent teams in this sport. Italy was a powerhouse but right now they are bad.
