Oh for sure that played a big part. But he didn't look like the Loma we've come to know. Loma has all the confidence in the world right now and likes to have his fun in there. But against Salido, that fighter was nowhere near to being seen.

If Salido was to fight this version of Loma? Oh dear god, that would be one bad night for Salido. One sided and embarrassing comes to mind.

Well that's the thing. It was his 2nd pro fight even in hindsight looking at the fighter he's become it's not surprising. It's natural a fighter who's so programmed to amateur boxing isn't going to be a grizzled pro in his first 2-3 fights. Pro experience is hugely important.

I think it did expedite his process and learning though. He looked sensational within a few fights of that.

Yep, Loma found his feet pretty much straight off the bat after that fight. He looked quality against Russell. He's a quick learner that boy.

What "would happen" if Salido fought Lomachenko now doesn't matter, when they fought Salido beat him. It was his 2nd pro fight thats Lomachenko's problem he wanted a title fight because he had confidence in his extensive amateur background and it didn't work out for him and thats that.
