As a Tigers fan, obviously the thought of that rotation now with Price is exciting to say the least. Hell nobody even mentions Porcello in the media but he's 12-5 with a 3.24 ERA and he's an afterthought on the staff. Verlander is having a really rough year, though. The hope is (kinda like last year) is that he does his thing come playoff time. We'll see.

But the A's & Angels are still extremely stout. There are going to be hellacious series come October.

the a's have 3 all stars still in there lineup, brandon moss, donaldson and stud catcher derek norris. best bullpen in the majors, and i think best rotation....

3/5 starters are top 5 in AL ERA .... shark is sub 3 era...

if the a's can play to there potential, they should be the favorites. cespy will not make or break this team. jonny gomes and sam fuld will platoon in LF and are two good players. once coco crisp and gentry come back we will be ok

The A's are by far the best team in the majors IMO. That team can flat out play ball. Donaldson's a beast and Gomes was another good addition to their squad.

Hopefully they finally get through and at the very least win the pennant. I'm pretty confident Lester will be the difference maker on this years squad.

Billy Beane is making great moves, adding Samardzija and swapping Lester for Cespedes. Pitching trumps offense in the postseason I love the move for Oakland.

Verlander has been having a piss poor year by his standards. Price was a great addition, but Oakland adding Lester still keeps things in their favor IMO.

Verlander is having a piss poor year by any big league pitcher standards.

There's talk that, barring some considerable improvement, that Verlander could go the Lincecum route from a couple years back and come out of the pen in the postseason.

That would leave a rotation of

            1. Price
            2. Scherzer
            3. Sanchez
            4. Porcello

it doesnt matter much anyway. the braves dont have a great rotation and they will not be near the WS.

if the a's rotation becomes lockdown, yes JD moss norris will be enough... they have elite pitching and can match up against any team... the a's have a lot of platoon players that are good, stephen vogt who's hitting .350,, guys like coco crisp and john jaso who are having great years. cespedes yes is a big loss, but hes a bit overrated. his avg like i said is average... he hasnt been hitting for power the past 1.5 month, only 3 HR and those were all in the past week...

tell me, how did the giants win the WS in 2010? ..... w/ posey cody ross and aubrey huff? no... they won because they had an elite pitching staff w a dominant bullpen and aces lincecum cain were at the top of there game.. pitching wins championships and always will.
Without Uribe, We don't win that world series, without Uribe, we wouldn't have got there.

But in the postseason, Verlander is just on a different level.

Wow no love for the angels second best record in baseball upgraded bullpen and solid starters . We just killed the tigers 3-1 in the series. With cj getting healthy ill put weaver, cj, Richards whose numbers equal verlanders numbers in previous years vs any rotation in the bugs.

On years where he had terrific regular seasons yes. It's illogical to suggest he's going to magically turn on the switch and start dominating under more pressure
                      and consistently facing better hitters.
