Does it help increase hand speed?

Does it give you most muscles then any other exercise in boxing (besides lifting weights of course, but boxers don't really focus on lifting weights)?

My goals are to gain punching power and a little bit of muscles by using the punching bag so I am curious. Thanks in advance.
You want to develop power fast ?
You have to develop snap first .

Slap pushups. Pushup fast then slap your hand .
Elevated feet pushups. Elevate your feet ( rest on a bench ) and whale away pushups.

Shot put . Throw shot puts in the park.

    Old school boxers threw rocks.

The punching bag helps develop punching skills.
They can also lead to bad punching habits if not monitored.

If you’ve ever swung a baseball bat properly, I’d say the body torque for that is similar to the right cross for a right handed batter.. point is that the power for the swing is coming from the entire body. The heavy bag is a good place to practice this. Do a variety of exercises for your entire body to increase power and gain some muscle. I’d say speed bag and double end bag are more for hand speed
OMG your ignorance is pissing me off and making me lol xDDDD

              1) You are already very powerful but you just dont realise it yet

              2) The heavy bag wont increase power in any significant way and neither will lifting weights or doing plyometrics

              3) Power is mostly skill and repetition

Hitting the heavy bag will make you powerful if you focus on getting punching technique right and getting control of your hips , but the resistance of the bag itself doesn't do much to improve power at all.
