Maidana has the power to hurt anyone with any pair of gloves, the issue is him landing the punch clean, and very few opportunities came his way has far as getting a shot on Floyds face

The rematch will be the same, he has to wear what Floyd says, so will he use it as an excuse again?
The glove choice obviously mattered to TMT and the health of Floyd, the dude didn't want to become a vegetable over night (I don't want to hear some BS about all the issue was really about was getting in to team Maidana's head, mind games crap). Dude was legit scared.

Perhaps Floyd still would have won but perhaps he would have got knocked down for the first time in his career in a legit manner and hurt more. I'm not going to say the MX or Cleto Reyes would have dictated the winner of the fight but it would have certainly made it more interesting and not made Floyd seem like the coward he's already seen as, he's simply solidifying his cowardice reputation.

I agree with you, in some respect and others i dont

I think Floyd wanted to make it more difficult for Maidanas taking away his luxieries, as well as having a ego boost "we the A Team, blahh blah"

I dont really think the gloves had a bearing overall, i think Maidana and Garcia allowed Floyd to get to them and cast doubt over their own abilities.

In the rematch - which i think will happen, Floyd will this time more than likely choose the gloves to make a further point he is the boss and to again make life more difficult for Maidana/Team Garcia.

If Maidana feels the gloves ARE THAT IMPORTANT then he should say no to the rematch, i dont want to hear about the issue after the rematch

A good chin is respected and it makes Floyd that much more complete, it's a shame in the sense of a less athletic fighter who has cardio issues only hope is for a KO and that won't even come because the guy has a decent chin behind his ATG defensive skills.

Let me simplify it further for you, after a fighter is able to get past Floyd's ATG defensive abilities and land 1 clean hard shot out of the 10 he's thrown, he's now thinking great this guy's chin is also damn good I may as well go home now since I won't be able to get a TKO/KO.

Only thing we can now hope for is Floyd to fight someone at least as athletic as he is with some power and or slick. The people that come in mind are Porter, Khan and Lara. I left out Thurman because he seems amateurish at times and Floyd would UD him in my opinion without much trouble.

I'd agree with you on your last point however Maidana's networth isn't in the hundreds of Millions like Floyd's is and every dollar will help the guy and his growing family so it's silly to walk away. At the same time you should not legally be allowed to claim GOAT, ATG, TBE status for such moves in a contact sport.

Indeed, which is why he would be a fool not to take a rematch

but i dont want to hear excuses, just get on with the job, nobody gets their way with a diva like Floyd, he is a **** u in the ass specialist and whatever we think of the man, he's earned his position to behave in such a way.

I think it would be better for Maidana psychologically, if he stops worrying about gloves, he hits hard regardless

Floyd is saying he is TBE but is scared to fight Chino with puncher gloves, It's ridiculous.

He has a legitimate reason for complaining about the glove issue since what TMT did breached the contract. The difference between me and you is that you think by selling the most PPV's, being the sports face it gives you some sort of divine right to dictate what gloves your opponent wears.

Boxers shouldn't be allowed to choose what gloves the opponent wears as long as it's approved by the commission and that goes for Oscar too when he chose Floyd's gloves, this in most peoples eyes make you a b!tch whilst simultaneously claiming you're somehow better than Ali and SRR, smh.

This mindset from the 'A' side is so bad for boxing and will leave future stars to make even more stupid demands, so far we have the 'A' side choosing the ring size, who enters the ring first, what gloves the opponent should wear and probably some other things I'm missing, boxing will end up being a diva contest if this crap continues and the fans of the sport just let it fly with statements such as 'I don't want to hear excuses bla bla bla...' no offence to you by the way.

Maidana who we all know hits harder than Khan, should have no issues with a pair of Gloves, a bit of padding will not change his power drastically, Floyd is not the man of steel.

LOL, did you just compare Collazo vs Floyd.....
