Very modern but not over the top silly. You can customise your gun to the max, like you get 3 perks, but if you want 3 attachments, for each one, you sacrifice a perk.... So on...

I didn't buy MW3 gave up after 2..

so far, very impressed with this one, handles well, it's smooth and great maps.
