why is this being praised as such a milestone in society?
Is it not racist that the black community are getting behind this film so much just because it has black actors in it? If anything doesnt that show the racial divide that still exists, the fact that the movie is celebrated so much by a certain community cause the actors have the same colour skin as them. Theyve been wearing suits and ties to go the cinema for this lol.
I dont get it, as far as i was aware there were lots of prominent black actors around. Things might have changed but i remember reading will smith was the best paid of them all per film at one point. So why is this some huge leap for 'equality'? WOuldnt a mix of ethnicities in a film be considered 'equal' (something that already exists) or is it the fact that theres a film thats completely driven out other races the cause for celebration? And is it fair in itself to have a film that excludes other races? What would the reaction be like if there was a sequel called 'white leopard'?
And why are certain members of said community attacking people for leaving negative reviews and labelling them racists for doing so? Surely the opposite of racism is giving objective reviews regardless of ethnicity. I dont quite think people have understood the meaning of equality, it doesnt mean pandering to every want and need of a minority, it means treating them equally. And if the film sucks, the film sucks. Lets not make out its some modern classic.
