  • Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez: Mayweather-Pacquiao Hurt The Ward-Kovalev PPV

Abel Sanchez, best known at the moment as being the head trainer of middleweight king Gennady Golovkin, believes the disappointing pay-per-view figures for Andre Ward vs. Sergey Kovalev was a direct result of the backlash from the 2015 mega-bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Yea cuz usually two unknown guys in mainstream media have historically done great PPV numbers.

Stfu Abel you dipsh^t. And hell man how much did it hurt them if we play along. If it dropped their numbers by 50% they still did sh^tty numbers.

no it wont. thats just with the general public who watch the fights at bars or with friends who buy the fight. people who buy ppv boxing, know anything can happen. we have all been amped up to see big fights before and they turn out to be stinkers. and we still keep buying the next ppv.

Pay per view is as dead as buying or renting movies. Many people just stream them. Who buys music? Put the fights in free channels like the old days and have comercials. Networks better start offering free channels and hope people tune in and charge companies for their commercials. Remeber the free channels FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC?
