I read the verdict summary of the last commission hearing where they ruled in favor of Goosen. Ward was actually right that there's zero reason for Goosen not to get him any fights despite the lawsuit. The problem is that while Ward claimed Goosen did not try to get him any fights, Goosen claimed that he did (including a good faith offer from February to fight Kessler) and that Ward has been uncooperative in working with him. Both provided evidence for their side of the story, but the commission found Goosen's evidence more compelling that he did try to get Ward fights, which is why they extended Ward's contract equal to the number of months where they were fighting with each other in addition to the months where Ward was injured.
And this ali act lawsuit won't make their contract invalid. At most Goosen would just have to pay a certain sum to Ward, but their contract would still be valid. So Goosen is still legally bound to get Ward a fight this year even with the lawsuit. Ward has to cooperate though.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 08-20-2014, 07:13 PM.
