To give him the benefit of the doubt, it might be his form of grieving over his wife.

He had them when his wife was alive. She died while taping a reality show about being the most armed man in America. He seemed more upset the reality show was cancelled than he was that his wife died.

He just seems like some crazy collector dude.

The type of guy who although he has millions of dollars worth of guns, is at the gas station pumping gas and some teenager rolls up and gets the drop on him and takes his gun and his truck.

Then he goes home and buys more.

It just seems like they want to paint every gun owner as a loon.
Part of his antics just seem like publicity stunts for his gun shop.
