Who did Calzaghe beat at SMW besides Kessler? Please don't say Lacy.

168 is young Division with not much history so it is really only Ward, Calzaghe and Froch that is probably your Top 3 All Time in that Division in which ever Order you Prefer to put them In

Lacy was favored to win, but he also beat Eubank, Woodhall, Reid. Not murderers row but solid overall. Kessler was already on the decline when Ward beat him.

        Ward's 168 resume isn't that deep either.

Lacy is a bum. The fact that Calslappy fans cling to that as his 2nd best win goes to show you that his argument for SMW #1 is flat. Yes he was super hyped, but that doesn't eliminate his lack of substance. He doesn't have a relevant soul on his resume. It is equivalent to Ward's win over Allan Green. It is absolutely meaningless.

          Ward at SMW:
          1) Froch
          2) Kessler
          3) Dawson
          4) Abraham

          Calslappy at SMW:
          1) Kessler
          2) Lacy
          3) Old Eubank

          Ward by a mile!

Depends on which book you went to. Some had it even money. Same had Lacy as a slight favorite.

Eubank retired 9 months later. Eubank was at the end of his career. Thats like giving Leon Spinks credit for beating an old Ali.

Woodhall and Reid, meh --- those guys were garbage. Woodhall never beat anybody really and Joe was his last fight. Didn't even

When Reid was 33-3-1 he started fighting 8 rounders and eventuallt 3 rounders what the fúck? He lost a 3 rounder to Tobias Webb who was 4-0-1.

When he fought Calzaghe, he hadn't fought anybody.

Even though Ward was dirty, his resume is so much better than Calzaghe's. Joe feasted on inexperienced guys. Doesn't matter if you're undefeated or not when you're 20-0ish.

He beat Froch after losing to Ward.

Abraham was coming off a shutout loss to Froch, Dawson was coming down a division and clearly weight drained. He also lost to Pascal, then got iced in a round by Adonis.

Kessler and Froch wins are alright, but nothing special either. At least when Calzaghe beat Kessler and Lacy (who was overrated but heavily favored in this country) they were undefeated champions coming in.

Your clearly overrating Ward's accomplishments by refusing to acknowledge the above but putting ** next to Calzaghe's wins (which I'm not claiming are all that sensational).

Abraham's nothing special, I agree. The thing is Abraham was 8-2 in title fights at SMW after losing to Ward. That mark includes a spectacular 3-1 record vs. Robert Stieglitz and an undefeated 2-0 mark vs. Paul Smith.
