They didn't drag their feet, so your entire thread is based on a troll premise. Hearn dragged his feet on giving Wilder's side a date, until finally admitting the date would be April 2019.

People are not as stupid as you think they are.
It's not even the date they're making a huge fuss of.
It's the rematch clause.

Fact: Finkel admits they didn't respond in a timely manner when he said
he would’ve met the deadline had he been given one.
Meaning, the date and venue was a non issue.
But again keep on making it as if it was.
Only your fellow Wilder defenders buy it.
WBA/Pov would have understood and stayed neutral had Wilder and team respected them.
But Wilder and his team were too arrogant and everyone had to wait for their very important decision.

But look at it. June 22nd Finkel has the contract, clarification on 2 points and has it in writing that Joshua will fight Wilder next.

He intends to send it back on June 29th. He doesn't state it will be signed. He knows that the WBA have already granted 7 weeks extension and they, and Povetkins promoters are on Hearns case every day.

The date and venue isn't an issue, October/November was confirmed. Jacobs/Derevenchenko was signed and announced with no date or venue too. The rematch clause wasn't an issue. The money wasn't an issue.

What the hell is the 7 day hold up from June 22nd to 29th supposed to be about? Why did he put out a public statement saying it will be a week before the contract is returned, unsigned?

To be honest, I'm starting to think Warren and Finkel were in on this together. If what Warren says is true about talking to Finkel during AJ/Wilder negotiations then it is in Frank Warren's interest to scupper the deal and get Fury involved instead. He and Finkel would earn more from 2 Fury/Wilder fights than AJ/Wilder.

At the same time, Hearn delayed sending the contract for a week, then delayed clarification of said contract for another week. According to Hearn, the contract was supposed to be sent by the 15th. Instead, it was late on the 18th when recieved, and another week before the terms were made clear.

Exactly why Povetkin vs Joshua is happening. Wilder and his team didn't take the contract seriously and totally made a mockery of AJ's mandatory obligation.

Wilder vs Joshua should have been so easy to make had they focused on the main goal, which was to win 4 more belts. Which usually accompany bigger paycheck after the victory.

As you said, all they want to achieve is to "piss off Hearn."

hearn and finkel both publicly confirmed that wilder's side was willing to concede on the rematch clause if the fight was next. two issues, date and rematch. both sides publicly stated rematch has been dropped as an issue, leaving only date.

I'm not even surprised why team Wilder was unable to respond quickly bearing in mind that Finkel had to deal with Wilder's 2 other managers.

It's clear they didn't feel the need to respect and acknowledge that the WBA and Povetkin were waiting for an answer. AJ losing a title without a challenger didn't seem important to them. Strangely enough, Finkel can't even talk to Hearn on the phone. Nobody knows why.

If Wilder accepted terms with a rematch clause for if he lost, why the hell would he then just forfeit that when the contract comes? It's a chance to win his belt back.

It's clear BS. A rematch for Wilder if he lost was never in the offer, but they kicked up a fuss when the contract arrived without it. It was a clear stall tactic and PR move.
