Bill Clinton left office with a higher approval rating than Ronald Reagan did, even after the Lewinski scandal. Clinton had 65% approval while Reagan had 57% approval.

Futhermore, Clinton's polling average throughout his two terms in office was also higher than Reagan's polling average : 55.1% to 52.8%. Clinton's highest approval rating was also higher than Reagan's highest at 73% for Clinton and 68% for Reagan.

The American public liked Bill Clinton better.

No they didn't, the 1980 and 1984 reelection of Reagan showed the whole country was painted in red, Bill never achieved that sort of a landslide victory, in fact if it wasn't for that dildo Ross Perot in in 1992, George Bush Sr would've been a two term president. The 90's were a prosperous era, even Herbert Hoover would've had a high approval rating.
