If you compare the Halloween franchise to that stand alone movie it just makes no sense.

But I agree those other two are just as bad.

Another sequence of bad sequels are all the Howlings that came after.

      what?

aliens is basically an action / adventure movie. evil dead two is a comedy but also very much dependent on suspense and scares.

movies like pirates of the caribbean are action/adv
i know imdb has aliens as sci fi/action and ed 2 comedy/horror....

but, imho, there are more elements of horror in aliens than in ed 2. nothing about ed 2 made me blink.

tbf, i absolutely hate ed 2 & 3. i didnt want ed to turn into some fncking comedy with ''horror'' sprinkled in. campbell became a caricature.

seems to be im the only one who doesnt like evil dead 2. so if you like supposedly funny ''horror'' movies.....

a better movie (which also had terrible sequels), ''feast''

            https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0426459/

Patrons locked inside a bar are forced to fight monsters.

            it has it all.

Sinister 2 isn't too bad imo but not as great as the first.

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is one of my favourite horrors.

Wes Craven helped write the screenplay for that one unlike the 2nd where he had no involvement and it showed dramatically. Wes Craven was the master and is my favorite horror director/writer. He’s one of if not the most important figures in horror ever. He revitalized and changed the game a couple of time.
