Default How would Foreman fair vs Bowe and Lennox

He was a beast of a man, he would do a demolition job on any era of boxers.

Some of these giant fighters like valuev would fall spectacularly to someone like foreman hes so powerful hes like a p4p fighter but also big like he can KO people much bigger than himself well, but he is big himself too. Hes just extremely powerful

Ali won and he was 2nd in their era but I cant help but feel he was more impressive its just he got matched up with a guy thats fast skilled and highly durable its juts a nightmare match up for him, but he is usually the nightmare match up for everyone else, and other guys were a poor match up for Ali too.

But anyway these 2 I consider some of the very best ever, how would an optimal George foreman fair against them? Maybe the 250 pound foreman young?

Either one probably edges 90s George by decision. 70s George was a different beast, though.

hes such a menace he actually poses a big threat to the GOATS, not many boxers have a granite chin speed skill and mobility , you kinda need a special set of assets to be a bad match up for foreman

Bowe would probably have to go to war with him in foreman's range , judging by his other fights, that would be an epic spectacle

Lewis would need to maintain range keep him on the end of his jab and cross, Lewis would be in deep trouble if Foreman gets inside , who can force their range on the other?

I dont think Ali would be a threat to Lennox or Bowe in the same way Foreman is despite him beating Foreman

Young Foreman would have stopped Bowe but Bowe might have stopped the older Foreman.

Nobody even knocked down older Foreman much less "stopped him".

I think any version of Foreman beats Bowe because I think Bowe would likely try to trade shots with Foreman which is always a bad idea.

Lewis could outbox Foreman and win Tommy Morrison style if he played it smart.

- -Never bothered to look at Bowes record, eh?

He always went after low hanging fruit, aka Field.

Did Ali have bad match ups stylistically? Guys like Ken Norton, Fraisier and others?

To me if you take that into account Foreman could be considered the best of his era or at least equal to ALi, because he only lost to Ali due to a sneaky tactic and bad match up stylistically/genetically.

He took care of the rest of his foe in a far more impressive way. Ali did not.

It seems to me that Foreman is the king of the 80's the best of his era but ALi gets the recognition for it unfairly.

Ali lost to his poor match ups and didnt take care of the rest of his foe in the same dominant one sided way that foreman did.(for the most part)

I mean in fighting there is a rock paper scissors thing going on, their may be a best of everyone in history, but even he might have a guy that beats him just because of of stylistic/genetic match up where he is scissors and he meets a rock , but that doesn't mean hes not the best of all time, or that the other guy that can beat him is.

Ali won and lost vs friazier and Norton, 1,1, (JUST) foreman wiped them out, and all his others pretty much, overall you could argue hes the better man more impressive in his era

I agree with the general premise that Ali is overrated and Foreman is underrated. Ali should not be significantly over Foreman in all-time rankings. Most all-time rankings have Ali #1 and Foreman like #15. That is not right at all.

I think as time goes on people will recognize just how great Foreman was. He is in the top 3 heavyweights of all time for me. You could make a fair argument over Louis as well.

Foreman in the 90s likely loses decisions to Bowe and Lewis, I would give him a fair shot vs both though, Lewis weak chin and generally being bigger and stronger than everyone not named Foreman, and Bowe because of his willingness to trade and I don't think he punches quite hard enough to really hurt Foreman.

In the 70s Foreman dusts them both though, he's just too dangerous. In the 90s he really just had his Jab and heart. 70s Foreman is hard to vote against vs anyone. Most people thought Foreman would kill Ali at that stage, what Ali did made history. How he tired Foreman out and broke his will with words. Ali never really koed George he made him quit.

You take a physical specimen like George who's just built like a monster from birth, then you give him the heart and mentality of a champion, iron chin, willpower, punching power, not intimidated by anyone, and a great deal of sneaky ring craft. Foreman had great trainer's as well. In truth his only real downfall was his sometimes lazy defense because he didn't feel anyone could hurt him, and he was very heavy boned he couldn't really throw short inside punches. He was limited to bombs and relied on his ATG Jab to set them up.

Kid, by buggery, the tightest fist packs the hardest wallop. George could make a tighter fist than almost anyone. It takes a milking muscle to make a tighter one. How many men do you know with a milking muscle? Zero, right? I have known exactly one. It was an honor to shake his mitt. Over and out.
