Or does a whole other Joshua show up vs Big Baby or Ortiz cuz he'd have taken them more seriously?
It's hard to say Ortiz's counter punch style might have gave AJ more time to settle in ending up like the Povetkin fight. Regarding Miller if AJ legit didn't like him he might have fought him with a chip on his shoulder and a bit more dog in him.

Hard to say whether Ruiz was just the perfect storm due to factors like his in-offensiveness and would the others have come back swinging after the getting knocked down first or tried to survive the round and shelled up?

This.

I always thought Ortiz was better.

This is why I hate the whole "who did he fight?" argument, as if certain guys aren't purposely avoided because they're high-risk/low reward.

Ortiz, yes. Miller, I don't think so. He's not an aggressive fighter. Ruiz capitalized by punching back when he was hurt. I can't see Miller having guts like that.

Haven’t seen Miller fight, so I can’t comment directly on him. It seems to me Joshua had an off night, so any top guy might’ve had a better-than-normal shot. That’s not taking anything away from Ruiz, who is basically underrated due to his flabby physique, but I’m not sure he can repeat the feat. A rematch will confirm. Ortiz can’t be counted out, even at this stage of his career. I imagine he’s kicking himself for not grabbing the opportunity.

Ortiz waits to long and allows you to set the pace, Joshua would have to worry about being countered by not bull rushed as much..I think Miller would rush him more and have had the bigger chance to stop him with pure aggression but I really dont know about his chin as he would have to take a few to get in

Stop lying to yourself. He would’ve broken Miller’s face and Ortiz doesn’t even stand a chance. Hammer almost knocked Ortiz out.

Different styles and different outcome.

Even the drunken Josh would’ve spark the both of them out. The uppercut and left hook that Ruiz got up from would’ve concussed both of them.

Miller is almost Josh’s height and he fights well against tall guys. And I believe the reason he was throwing hooks in that fight was because he trained for Miller. So Miller who’s a standing target would’ve been at the receiving end of those hooks all night.

Hammer almost knocked Ortiz’s head off and Josh would’ve killed him. Povetkin is light years ahead of Ortiz and he has more power. And Josh destroyed him.

Ruiz got hit with big shots. Bounced back and threw hooks. People seem to forget that. Run that fight back with someone who doesn't have an incredible chin and the fight's over in three.

You can't say Ortiz or Miller would have jumped up and fought on. Ortiz has been in with one big puncher and got knocked out - I'd need to see some evidence he can take a right hand from someone Joshua's size.

Miller, well I'm assuming he's been fighting most of his career with needles in his arse. Never been in with anyone too credible and we don't have any idea how he'll fight when he's off the gear.

I do think there was an opportunity though. Joshua was under some serious pressure and distraction. Someone had to be brave enough and good enough to get into the ring and beat him.

I believed Miller when he said he'd expose the hypejob, as it turned out he had every chance to but maybe not as emphatically as Ruiz did. He and many others knew how vulnerable Joshua is to pressure and competent boxing skills.

Things were meant to be for a reason. As I reflect, I am more than confident now that Wilder would have over taken him too. So there was a reason why those two never met up. Wilder was deemed too dangerous for Joshua and Ruiz was deemed too easy.
