  • Andre Wards Resume is better than Floyds

Ward went up in weight and beat a p4p fighter in his prime KOVALEV. Mayweather never beat a fighter in their prime as good and dangerous as kovalev while moving up a weight. FACTS. Canelo was the only one who comes close but he was weight drained and not as good as he is now.

    Best wins.

Manny - Koed. Much smaller. Shorter reach and height. Huge physical disadvantage.

    Mosley - Past prime.

De la hoya - way past prime.

Canelo - 21 and weight drained.

Corralles - not on kovalev's level and a walking corpse.

Disagree that Ward's resume is better. I do think Mayweather's resume while being excellent looks much better on paper than upon closer inspection. That said Kovalev doesn't outweigh all of Mayweather's work. Plus, I don't think Ward beat K in the first fight.

      Honestly I agree.

Floyd has big names, but Adnre NEVER ducked anyone in their prime. Kov, froch, kessler, berrera

Floyd bread and butter was fighting young inexperienced fighters, or old and out of prime.

Keep dreaming. Beating a bunch of stiff, 1 dimensional euros < beating hall of famers. Prime doe.

The only thing he has is beating the boogeyman of his division in his prime. Then again, Corrales was that guy for Floyd years and years ago. Last 10 or so years he choose his fights wisely of course... Ward got Froch and Kovalev

Floyd got HOF fighters past their primes but still probably better fighters than Froch and Kovalev .
Cotto is better than both will ever be and never mind PAC, Canelo, etc....

Ward's resume is lacking a signature win over an mma fighter

here's the thing; floyd was a top p4p fighter int he freaking 90's, man. do you understand that? how long ago that was? how great you've got to be to stay at the top of anything, nevermind a young man's game like pro boxing, for that long?

ward got the top p4p spot and he literally retired within months.

yeah, ward's best wins are up there with floyd's. he had a very respectable career and is a hall of fame boxer. but anybody worth his salt knows that floyd mayweather's resume and his accomplishments must be looked at in the context of the two decades he was one of the best boxers on the planet.

ward got nearthe top after the froch win and he bascailly retired / put himself into exile. had a good deal with goossen, who secured him home field in the SS until the final, which was still on american soil. took him a long time to come back and even fight again, and even longer to get back to the top p4p spot. arguably lost along the way.

floyd did retire, and he himself will tell you that he was moved for long term financial gain instead of parody and to prove himself, but FFS the guy has a better resume than ward based on his damn near two decades as a p4p elite. and you f#cking know it!

cotto was not better than kovalev when he fought floyd. kovalev was in his prime and you could make the argument that he beat ward and was among the very best p4p on the planet. cotto lost to austin trout in his next fight after floyd, and previously he'd beaten the great yuri foreman, a blind antonio margarito with no plaster, and the reanimated corpse of ricardo mayorga. prior to those three fights he was embarassed by pacquiao after shooting his wad early int he fight and then all but surrendering with all the backpedaling he did. and he still got the sh#t beaten out of him and took a deteriorating beating.

cotto was never the same after margarito 1. kovalev was still prime when ward got to him, and ranked a hell of a lot higher than cotto was when he fought floyd. facts, not opinions.
