I WAS ONE OF THESE PEOPLE once. It's real.

You think because people sit stagnant with min wage fringe jobs and collect welfare, that this is evidence of welfare "working"? Or having a positive outcome? Upward mobility is a personal responsibility.

There is no data in that link that goes into enough detail, and this is by design. Quit defending the lazy oxygen thiefs abusing taxes and social services that shouldn't exist outside of a socialist state.
That almost everyone receiving assistance works. That proved your previous comment was completely false.

Do you really think people like being poor and on minimum wage?

You were proved wrong, so now it is not they are too lazy to work, but they prefer to get paid minimum wage.

Also, $885 million in welfare to Donald Trump. Almost a billion dollars in welfare to one person. He doesn't get paid minimum wage.

But yes, he is lazy, I will give you that. You have been proven to be ignorant and a liar. Let's kick lazy welfare cheating bums like Trump off the taxpayer funded government payroll. That is where the most welfare goes. To Trump, to the Koch Brothers, to the Mercer family. All of which are continually enriched by your tax dollars. This is where most of the welfare goes.

Again, if you make $50,000 a year, you pay $42 a year for assistance for the poor, and pay $6,000 a year for welfare for the rich. Let us end this broken system that allows one person to leach almost a billion dollars off of welfare.

But I get it, the single parent working 50 hours a week and still needing assistance is lazy and shouldn't be allowed to feed her children. But billionaires should receive hundreds of millions of dollars in welfare.

$885 million in welfare. Welfare Queen, Donald J. Trump. The bum is too lazy to work, so he abuses the system for almost a billion dollars. But yes, let's keep giving him that money and blame those that work 50 hours a week for wanting to feed their children.

Everyone ignores the big picture which is as follows...

We have a cyclical economy. Sometimes things are good. Sometimes things are bad. Wanting to dismantle these social programs during periods of economic prosperity is short sighted. We are on our way to another downturn when all these programs will be put to good use. Those at the bottom are disproportionally affected during economic downturns.

I've been to many countries where there is no strong safety net. It's horrific. Social programs raise the standard of living for all. The poor are taken care of and those that are well off do not have to travel through massive and perpetual slums and see homeless everywhere they travel.

One final point is that the biggest myth is we are a capitalistic economy. We are a MIXED economy. Have been that way since wayyy before any of us were born. We are a mixture of BOTH capitalism AND socialism. The ability of these two economic systems to cohabitate and change as the world around us changes is a significant strength. Both rigid economic models (or at least attempts to be close to these models)...capitalism and socialism have predominantly failed in practice. The legacy of capitalism was child labor, massive pollution, cold water flats, massive homelessness and a growing underclass that found themselves unable to fend for themselves during economic downturns.

Six dollars. For all of them. Yet, the same person making the same $50,000 a year literally pays $6,000 a year in corporate welfare. In handouts to Trump Hotel and to Oil companies (Koch brothers) and to big drug companies (the Mercers). You literally pay 1,000 times more for corporate welfare than you do on all those programs you listed.

You cry about $6 a year, most of which goes to people who are also working, but the $6,000 for corporate welfare, you don't care about.

Again, $6 to help the poor, and $6,000 to help some of the richest people alive. Wow. What am I doing, you obviously have trouble reading, so no way you made it this far.

But we are paying a lot for the billions of dollars the U.S. government gives to corporate America each year."

The average American family pays a staggeringLinks to an external site. $6,000 a year in subsidies to Republican-friendly big business... So where does some of that $6,000 that you and I are paying every year actually go?
For starters, $870 of it goes to direct subsidies and grants for corporations.
This includes money for subsidies to Big Oil companies that are polluting our skies and fueling climate change and global warming. Compare that to the $36 you and I pay for food stamps a year.
An additional $870 goes to corporate tax subsidies.
The Tax Foundation has found that the "special tax provisions" of corporations cost taxpayers over $100 billion per year, or roughly $870 per family."

Rachel Dolezal pleads not guilty to welfare fraud
________________________________________

SPOKANE, Wash. — A former NAACP leader in Washington state whose life unraveled after she was exposed as a white woman pretending to be black pleaded not guilty to welfare fraud on Wednesday.
Nkechi Diallo, formerly known as Rachel Dolezal, made a brief appearance in Spokane County Superior Court.
State charges of welfare fraud and false verification for public assistance are related to income she received from a book and other sources while also receiving welfare benefits, prosecutors said.

Superior Court Judge James Triplet ordered that she remain free on her own recognizance and set her trial date for Sept. 10.
Diallo did not talk to reporters after the brief hearing. Her lawyers also declined comment.
She resigned as head of Spokane’s NAACP chapter in 2015 when it was revealed she was born to white parents and raised in rural Montana.

And no breakdown, just generalized statements.

Give me the breakdown and not generalized generic figures.

How much for housing?

How much for healthcare?

How much for school lunches?

How much for property taxes?

How much for utilities?

How much for social programs?

Give us the breakdown for these.. out of the $6 you claim that pays for all of this. How much of the $6 goes to each?

$6 for all of them. The amount for each one is so little, there is no need to break it down. You are literally crying about $6 a year to help the poor, but are fine with $6,000 a year for corporate welfare to billionaires.

That just a fact. I know actual facts are often liberal talking points. Because liberals tend to base their views on facts. Like paying a whopping $6 a year for all of that. And literally 1000x more for corporate welfare. Trump alone has received at least $885 million in welfare.

Do you not understand $6? Is it really that tough?

Oh, I know, it is a total of six dollars.

I get it, you do not know what this sign $ means. It stands for dollars.
