Margarito and Cotto are not worth Floyd's time

They are two of the best welterweights, Floyd was a welterweight.
He fought DLH at 154 and Hatton ( A 140 champion) at 147. He needed to fight full size welterweights at 147, not guys who aren't suited for the weight or are above the weight
so baldomir wasn't a real welterwight the f.u.c.k didn't come in the ring that night weighing 163 now that he has beaten his greatest foes in hatton and hoya, and put to rest any claim against his greatness you guiys want to act like margarito or cotto are better then floyd..
they are not and paul williams and clottery exposed margartio and cotto got exposed by c-level margarito.
hence the michael jennings vacant title fiasco coming to a boxing ring near you

Mayweathers best win at 147 was probebly Judah...and Cotto beat him up. how does that make Mayweather another level above him?

Yes Baldomir was a welterweight, but you don't just beat him & Judah then call it a day. Also, end your career fighting a 140 champion, who always looks bad at 147. I am not acting like Floyd is better than Cotto, or Cotto is better than Floyd. I am simply stating that Cotto is a real challenge at welterweight, Floyd should have fought him.

margarito has lost to the likes of larry dixon, rodney jones, paul williams and daniel santos.
if margarito was some atg at 147 WHICH HE IS NOT then he should be undefeated and have unified 147 or at least defended his title 15 times( like the great felix trinidad the greatest afro-rican champion ever).
but what has margo done in his 29 years in the sport
the fact that cotto could not beat a fighter bigger then him shows how overrated he truly is. cotto will never be an atg since he lacks the toughness and smarts to ever beat a bigger fighter.
why would floyd a 5 weight world champion come out of retirement and place his "0" on the line against medicore fighters like this.
what does margo have to put up in a battle with floyd of equal worth. margo has nothing but a wba belt you idiots think floyd is going to come out of retirment to fight margo for his trinket
and cotto what does he have to offer now that margo popped his cherry. a wbo trinket he got fighting michael jennings.
why did floyd ''retired''? because of cotto/margarito you clown
take a seat
it doesn't change the fact that floyd is a chicken and won't come back to face pacquiao

In all seriousness I'm a big Margarito fan but i seriously think that Mayweather would win a close points decision but there is a very big chance Tony's volume could be enough to trump Floyd's skill.

Floyd fought Sharma Mitchell, Zab Judah and Carlos Baldomir...who we all know WAS NOT the best welterweight in the world. Why didn't Floyd unify the division if he was the best? Instead he chose to go up in weight for the money, then have a smaller fighter come up in weight for an easy win, and more big money. That's all good and all, you gotta make your money. But don't expect people to seriously consider you the best welterweight in the world if you're not fighting the toughest challengers in your division.
After Floyd retired, most people considered Cotto the best welterweight. Margarito beat him, now he's the best. Williams beat Margarito before that, but he's no longer fighting in the divison, so at this moment Margarito is the best welterweight in the world. No need to unify....Floyd didn't.
So that's what Margarito brings to the table, a fight with the best welterweight in the world.Last edited by Contenders; 12-22-2008, 11:43 PM.

Cotto, Margarito, Floyd a toss up!
Styles make fights, honestly I believe that Its a toss up with either fighter...Margaritos pressure could possibly break Floyd but at the same time Every positive thing Cotto did against Margarito Floyd is better at. Floyd is a stick and move fighter and thats how Cotto was hurting Marg. Cotto was out of his element. Cotto is usually the seek and slowly destroy his competition type, he was doing something he was not used to that night and Floyd is used to it. So slight edge to Floyd.
Now Cotto vs. Floyd...I believe Cotto could go back to what he is used to doing against a Floyd. He could seek and destroy but unlike Marg. Cotto would be able to keep up with Floyd. Again Toss up, small edge to Cotto.
We all know that when Floyd Retired he wasnt even thinking about Marg. because simply put The win over Cotto put Marg. on the map. Now we all know that Cotto was major talk in boxing circles to fight Floyd and we all know what Floyd did. (retired) makes one wonder if his confidence was their for Cotto and Now after seeing what happened with Marg. maybe he feels the same about Marg. now.
