  • How come people use the Mcgregor fight as the last time Floyd fought professionally?

The last time Floyd fought professionally was against Berto who is a professional boxer which was 4 years ago.

But some people here insist that the last time he fought professionally was against Mcgregor which was less than 2 years ago since Mcgregor was a live opponent and was supposedly a threat to take Floyd's 0.

    hmmmmmmm

I saw the Mcgregor fight as a showcase fight that shouldn't really be on his record but it is what it is. Floyd is 50-0 and he's very quick to tell you about his record....Mr. TBE!!

Because McGregor was professionally licensed to box, thus it counts.

Anything to claim that Floyd is only semi retired to get Paquiao a second chance..

        Disgusting really

Well technically it WAS his last professional boxing match even if it was a novelty fight.

            The NSAC sanctioned the fight.
Occasionally the NSAC will refuse to sanction a mismatch.(An example would be Andre Ward vs Rohan Murdoch).
But in this case they knew Floyd, with his cautious style and his fragile hands, couldn't really hurt Mac, who was making his pro boxing debut.

He was paid to fight under boxing rules so it was a pro fight even though Conor is not much of a boxer and had never fought before as a boxer.

If we go through Floyd’s record (or any top fighter’s, to be fair) and eliminate every fight that was a total mismatch, you won’t have much left.
