  • What Boxing's Missing. BRAWLS.

A throwback to that time Lewis and Rahman threw down on ESPN:

This is what we need - none of this respect nonsense, just two guys who can't stand each other and have no problems throwing hands. Get to fight night and it's a great fight. We've seen it time and again. Get people interested in buying the fight, and do it on a stage that even casuals will be watching.

I got into boxing during the Barrera/Morales and DLH/Vargas era. The hatred was real and made those fights special. Miss those days.

That was staged and we don't need that crap in boxing. Go watch WWE if you want that stuff.

That was not staged. Ali/Frazier was staged.

Regardless, the brawls and the true hatred earmark the greatest fights in boxing history. Always have.

When you get two guys who just respect each other and shake hands smiling, what do you get? Boring dances like Thurman/Garcia.

Pale shadow of what used to be. Even Mosley/Mayorga was a publicity stunt done to appease fans at the face off.

I want to see brawls on regular TV in front of the world to get people into it. Show me that you don't like this guy and plan to put him to sleep.

                  Very true.

Rahman might be the worst lineal heavyweight champion of all-time, but he had big arms and shoulders though.
