  • How much would Hearn/Finkel/Haymon make from the AJ-Wilder fight?

Are we talking percentages? How many ways will the money be split? I'm guessing on AJ's side he will be giving Matchroom a big cut, then on Wilder's side he has about 4 managers/promoters? Will they just get a cut of their fighter's purses or will they negotiate their own cut?

Think Hearn takes 10%. Joshua his own manager, so doesnt lose anything there. Think Haymon takes 15% from fighters who get paid over 6 figures. No idea about Finkel and the rest

Not really set on all the details, but I do know that the Matchroom 'rule of thumb' is costs get covered with the fighter owning the show getting 80% of what's left after costs.

The event costs $25m to put on, total proceeds are $60m, net is $35m, with Matchroom Sport getting $7m and the fighter getting $28m (which the fighter then has to split with his management team/trainers/taxman).

Deontay Wilder, in this situation, would have to only split his purse with his team (unsure of DiBella's take, but he likely gets a small piece, Shelly Finkell gets his piece for being the guy to actually check the contracts, Haymon gets his piece for facilitating the deal, and then the training team gets their piece); on $15m, the camp likely gets $4m, with Wilder getting near $11m (before paying taxes; depending on how his affairs are structured, from a $15m purse, he's likely seeing $7m-$8m actually hit his personal bank account).

Matchroom's take and Wilder's managers' take are exactly the same. So not really sure what the point of this thread is. But on top of Matchroom's take, AJ has to pay his manager a percentage, whereas Wilder only pays his promoter a flat fee. So AJ will be paying out a higher total percentage than Wilder.

Wilder really only has one manager. Yes, he technically has three, but it's Finkel steering the ship. Wilder's trainer is the one that discovered him, so as a token of appreciation, Wilder gives his trainer credit as "co-manager" so his trainer makes a little extra $. Haymon is Wilder's adviser as you need to bring Haymon on to get into the PBC universe. But many PBC fighters keep an existing manager and bring Al in as adviser so they can join PBC.

His title is the Managing Director of AJ Boxing. UK boxers have their managers listed here http://bbbofc.com/content/managers. Most the top Matchroom boxers manage themselves

It sounds like AJ has a damn good thing going. Hearn is well worth 10% and he keeps the rest except for paying his trainer and paying for training camps. Wilder Keeps saying how stupid AJ is and how Hearn is taking advantage of him. It sounds like AJ has a better, smarter setup than Wilder does. AJ is the one making the really big money.

He's the one that set up AJ boxing and retained his previous percentage. He is still essentially AJ's manager even if for legal purposes AJ is self-managed.
