  • Boxing is a Dangerous Contact Sport. It is not Ballroom Dancing

Ali, Robinson, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, etc. all knew and accepted that boxing is dangerous profession. Yet they recognized that to achieve gain and fame, they must take the risk and accept the pain. They also realized that to minimize the pain they must rely on their skills, not on their ability to avoid the threats.

Boxing is a physical and dangerous sport. That is it's nature. That is also what makes it enticing to watch. If boxers can cherry pick their opponents and duck the threats because they fear the possible dire consequences, then the sport of boxing will simply become a joke, a farce. There would be no point in watching and supporting the sport anymore. We all might as well switch to watching ballroom dancing.

Any sport, whether its football, basketball, tennis, swimming, track & field, etc., the goal is to determine who is the best. And to be the best, athletes must face the best. Anyone who refuses to abide and accept this universal principle of all sports and who will instead deliberately duck a threat for fear of losing, or is afraid of the adverse consequences, is nothing but a COWARD and should not be allowed in the sport in the first place. Likewise, any fan who agrees with the COWARD is contributing to degradation of the sport and is definitely not a true fan of that sport.

Floyd has taken almost ZERO solid shots to the head in almost 20 years of boxing

    +

    Floyd is filthy rich.

    =

Floyd will enjoy his wealth for many, many years to come.

So...fighting the way he's fighting obviously paid off.

You're pretty much spot on about Pacquiao. To fight the best you have to take the test and be your own man. Don't have a puppet master determine all of your moves for you. Make your own decisions.

Fight Floyd already and stop ducking.

For a boxer fighter who say he's afraid for his health, he is just a plain wussy. It's probably time to get into golfing if he feels that way about his career.

OP should have posted this after the truth about Pac's 148 catchweight demand came to light.

Boxing is the one sport you don't play~ the goal is to win and not end up a fucking wreck by middle age.

If you can't respect someone who both wins and makes it out of the sport fairly intact I don't know what to say.
