how would you great posters of the lounge consider grave of the fireflies?

    is it a war film?

if it is, shame on you for not even mentioning it...

Seriously. Starship Troopers. It's a satire about the morality of expeditionary war.

Casualties of War, Platoon, Hamburger Hill. I believe those are the only ones that I that I have actually watched.

whichever had Michael J Fox protecting a Vietnamese refugee from being raped by Sean Penn and one of the drunk Baldwin Brothers. I was a kid when I watched so I could be off with some of my "facts".

It's an ATG amongst films, and my favorite animated piece of all time.

While it does deal with the circumstances of war, I still consider it an animated piece first and foremost, hence why I didn't nominate it.

If I had considered it a war film, it'd be #1.

The Thin Red Line - Beautifully shot.

Apocalypse Now Redux - Anti-War at it's finest.

That's Casualties of War you're referring to Tim.

What they did to that Vietnamese woman is harrowing and disturbing.
