well i didn't say the husseins weren't psychopaths.

almost every country with a military has them.

their use is banned but having them is not.

        like hollow point bullets.

every army has them but it's use is banned.

        go figure.

you can blow ppl up but you can't use hollow points.

If the U.S. had knowledge of this through intelligence gathering, you also have to realize all the other super powers did also. The UK, China and Russia also has intelligence agencies and probably knew as well.

they didn't care. all the major powers, US/USSR/UK/France/China/West Germany, and all the rich arab powers all armed and/or supported iraq and saddam against iran.

the only western power to help iran?

            wait for it....... ISRAEL.

            i **** you not.

Technically, there is no ban on chemical weapons.

There are international treaties, to which Syria, the US, Russia, etc., are not signatories to.

Also the US provided intel on Iranian forces, Iraq used that intel to deploy banned weapons. Conflating these two aspects is misleading.

Russian ambassador: "Your highness, I feel bad that those tanks rolling across your border, they are Russian tanks."

Kuwaiti prince: "You feel bad? We paid for those tanks!"

iraq and saddam was very friendly towards the usa pre-kuwaiti invasion.

ppl forget saddam might have been a tyrant but he was far from anti-west in comparison to other arab dictators.

What do you have to say about the Iran-Contra affair?

The US and Russia possess the biggest stockpiles of chemical weapons. The Brits apparently supplied the chemicals to Syria. Where should we start? The US?

i think the congress should've let us arm the contras.

then we wouldn't have had to do it.
