floyd and margarito were both with top rank back then. they offered him the marg fight for 7 mill and he fought sharmba and zab instead. then they offered it to him again for 8 but he demanded 20 mill guarantee to fight hoya as part of the deal(he fought hoya for 10)

I would have liked to have seen that fight instead of Zab Judah or Baldomir.

Tony had alot of BUZZ during that time.

Not true! Before Margarita and Cotto even existed, Floyd was chasing two money fights with Gatti and Oscar. They werent extremely credible, just money fights. He spent his entire career going up in weight, chasing those two fights, and he went directly to those fights. His haters accused him of ducking 10-20 fighters who were in between. When he retired he came back and fought people bigger, stronger, and faster than a prime margarita and cotto. Cotto was good for a little guy at 140. But Floyd never looked at them the way he looked at Pacman.

He looked at Pacman like daaaaaamnnn!!! He never looked at Cotto and Margarita in that type of way. He probably thought they were beneath him, but they werent apart of his plan!

By the time they started making noise, Oscar was right around the corner!

False, he got 25 million for De La Hoya and he was feuding with Arum at the time.

Anyone that argues otherwise is just a groupie. Floyd is a known Ducker, you can cut it each way you want, you still got a ducker.

Thats just the reality, he's a ducker.

He also gave Martinez his first loss via stoppage. Martinez wouldn't lose clearly again till his knee gave out on him.

he received a 10 million guarantee to fight hoya yet he asked for a 20 million guarantee when negotiating the margarito fight...see what he did there? he wanted 20 but then he changed his mind to 10 when margarito was out of the picture. common tactic. called pricing yourself out.

He accepted a 10m guarantee from Oscar after he left TR, the same guarantee TR was offering but he was insisting on 20m. The fight did much better than projected so he got a lot more in PPV upside.

if he was just after the money wouldn't he have fought margarito? that was 7 million while his "money fight" with gatti was only 3.2 million.

what do you mean he went directly to them? i can remember him fighting guys like corley and bruseles, and then mitchell, zab and baldomir. you are on time out from using the word directly. he didnt' have time to sneak in a career high payday while waiting for hoya? you kinda prove the point that he was ducking right there. floyd wanted hoya so bad that he couldn't risk losing to marg.

Yeah I guess he did. Maybe he will fight him after Berto.

Ya see Mayweather doesn't really duck them, he makes them wait until they are beatable. Then when he is sure they are a sure win he signs.
