  • How David Price held back on his dreams to recreate the Rocky story in real life.

Going into the first Tony Thompson fight, David Price was 15-0, the obvious heir to the Klitschko throne and the most dangerous right hand in world boxing. David, a former gas fitter, turned boxer, had recently worked his way through the best of the best in British boxing. In his previous five fights he had defeated Tom Dallas, John Mcdermott, Sam Sexton, Audley Harrison (Olympic Gold medal winner and world title challenger) and Matt Skelton.

At this stage, David knew that he had the beating of any heavyweight, not only in the world now, but ever. He realised something though, he could go through his career beating all these guys, winning all the belts and becoming the best of his era. But then, he would just be another name in a list of greats among greats that did amazing things.

Example - Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, Marvin Hagler, David Price, Tommy Hearns. His name would have been in among names and been remembered in boxing history. But David wanted more, he wanted to replicate his favourite movie, Rocky. As is known by all now, Rocky was a journeyman that did the impossible. No heavyweight in history has came close to replicating the Rocky story.

David planned out his long term strategy, which is still in place by the way. Where he would lose many fights, mostly in comical fashion, before launching a remarkable comeback later in his career by doing a Rocky, and beating the best of the best against all of the odds after being written off by everyone. He knows he could beat Joshua, Wilder, Ortiz, Fury, Miller and the rest with ease. He sacrificed being the man to beat Klitschko, knowing that his time will come down the line to beat all the best, even some who would be better than Klitschko.

He wanted to be the real Rocky, David Rocky Price, the big truck. He enrolled in some acting classes to make his losses seem realistic. His first loss to Tony Thompson, he got tapped in the head, he got up and beat the count with ease, whilst realising this is the perfect time to pretend to play a pub drunk who can't stand anymore. In the rematch he decided to pretend to blow his gas tank, a part he played so well, so he brought it back for future fights. Purely Oscar worthy stuff from David.

David then beat four chumps just to tick over. At this time of his plan, he did start to slightly worry about his short term financial situation. He got a job under a different name as a celebrity suit tailor, which paid great. Still partaking in acting classes, David had recently learned how to play dead. He put this to practice brilliantly in his loss to Erkan Teper.

Price then rolled over a couple of chumps, just to keep his record looking okay, before again pretending to gas out against Christian Hammer. It's classic irony really, a former gas fitter, gassing out, it was a nice touch from David to include this move in his ever expanding repertoire.

He ticked over another win before facing Povetkin. Earn with Hearn had Povetkin flown over from Russia as he and his Golden Boy Anthony Joshua had no intention of facing Deontay Wilder, they wanted Pricey to be the perfect showcase for the has-been, 5 years passed his sell by date, Russian, Povetkin. And he was. Price unintentionally almost knocked the Russian plodder out in the third. In round 5 Price got back to his plan, this time, he decided to play the role of man asleep, standing up. It was another fantastic performance, and that thus far, the fact David Price has been overlooked for any major acting awards is quite frankly a disgrace.

Earn with Hearn was so impressed with David's dive, that he wanted him to do the same again, against another Russian plodder, Sergey Kuzmin. He explained to David that this soft touch coming through is unbeaten, and could be a perfect future opponent for Anthony to further avoid the likes of Deontay, and would be an easy sell to the gullible British, Anthony Joshua fans, who would have you all believe that Dillian Whyte is the P4P World #2. Price took it on, he got through four rounds before faking an injured shoulder.

This wasn't Price's best performance, as there were times when he forgot which shoulder he injured, but even still, It kept another Russian heavy in title contention. David has since decided to make his onslaught toward winning the world title, right now, Rocky style, and defending it against the best.

The real life Rocky story - David Price - Big surprises coming soon from this man. He has been playing you all, but it's time for the real David to blow the world away. Now, he won't just be a name among other names, but his story will surpass any boxing story before it. A comeback like non other, but all of it part of a master plan conjured up in 2013 shortly before the first Tony Thompson fight.
