  • Is a hip jab a knockout blow?

Ok if you are orthadox and you throw a straight right, you would usually follow with a left hook.

But you could also throw a straight left punch with the same hip motion the left hook.

Is this punch a knockout blow?

It has exactly the same hip motion as the left hook or left uppercut, does that mean it has near the same knockout power? If not why not?

    Cheers!

No, a left hook is much more powerful.

It is a shorter punch that generates more leverage.
You are more likely to get knocked out from a hook as it hits from the side and causes the brain to move within the skull.
