Yes. This. Brandon Rios for example, a guy with a 31-2 record, gets repeatedly called a bum and a punching bag on this site. Amir Khan (28-3) gets often referred to as a bum. And the list goes on and on and on.

They may not be pound for pound guys, but they're competing at the world level for god's sake, and we have dudes behind computer screens calling them bums?

Now Reggie Strickland...God love him, was a bum. Dude literally lost 276 times in his career.

A fighter with a losing record who only carries on fighting for the money is often referred to as a bum.

The word 'bum' on NSB, however, has a completely different meaning.

A guy that comes into the ring for a paycheck without the intention or belief that they will win. Malik Scott for example has officially become a bum.

Someone I know that refuses to work but is always asking me for money.

Which completely rules out most pro boxers.

                    1) Losing Record or very close to that point.

                    2) Going gets tough and they quit cuz they are there to collect the $.

                    3) Never go past the point of being a test for young prospects.

They have to have all 3 to be considered a bum. Ortiz quits but hes been a WBC champion so no hes not a bum. So on and so forth.
