You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. This is some corrupt ass ****, half the country is starving and you want to use that money for some match, what a joke.

Pacquiao is wasting his time. Marquez has made it clear he will never fight Pacquiao again. He thought he was robbed in all the fights except the last one. He wants to leave his KO win as the final fight of their series. He sure as hell won't fight Pacquiao in Pacquiao's own country.

Indeed and even if it generated a lot of money in return, it would just end up with a lot of corrupt people skimming off the top for themselves anyway.

He's trying to scam his own country now. $60 mil WTF? He planning on keeping 50 himself?

Manny is the "people's champion" and although he fights for money (see Crawford fight and Roach making **** up about purse splits/demands) Manny is a still a hero of the people.

Even though Manny supports civilians murdering other civilians (Duterte's vigilante drug laws) and hates ****sexuals (it is a sin according to Manny) he is a man "of the people" and "for the people"

So if Manny wants to use $60 million to fight a 45 year old Marquez to try and avenge his KTFO - even though his country is deeply impoverished and that money could be well invested in education, healthcare, etc. - Manny is doing everything he's doing to "help the people". Even though Manny boxes for "money" and not "the people", he wants $60 million "for the people"

What a waste. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the return on investment will leave the country at a loss. It's not going to generate any more revenue, who the hell is going to travel there to see the fight?

It's unfortunate, but the PR machine will go into overdrive on this one, and those third world citizens will think Manny is even more of a God, for trying to bring the fight to their world. It will gloss over the fact that he's another leech in a long line of leeches.

That's how they buy votes in the Philippines; they hand out a few motors for local fishermen, and spread word around that they're supposedly building houses for the poor.

60mil out of what appears to be a tourism budget for a deeply impoverished country is ridiculous, but the "Filipino Trump" is in control over there, so who knows if it'll actually happen.

Manny should just face the fact that he's not as big of an attraction as he used to be; he did this to himself by refusing to take boxing seriously. Pacquiao very clearly has had enough in the tank for years (even without Ariza's protein shakes) to still be a great fighter, but he's chosen to take it easy.

Now, if he wants to make it big again in the states, he should do the obvious: train like your life depended on it, and knock people out.

Furthermore, the guy should really stop blowing his money; if he could just hold on to the last 20 million of his career or something, he'd be set for life, easily. But the dude spends like Floyd (I doubt "houses for the poor" are the cause of this) and acts like the money well will never go dry.

Now he's asking the Philippines to cover his 20 million guarantees? Ridiculous.

How about he actually does something to help his country in the senate by moving to stop all these vigilante killings endorsed by the "Filipino Trump?"

                      Correct.

There is almost no chance that Marquez will fight Pacquiao again, and no chance at all that he would go to Philippines to do it!
