  • It's amazing how jones handled his opposition

    absolutely out of this world

REGGIE JOHNSON(39-5-1) by total and utter domination, johnson down in rounds 1 & 3
EVERY(with the exception of the roy jones fight) reggie johnson loss is disputable, he mostly loss only by split decision and i gave him the james toney fight.
    HE BEAT:
Steve Collins who in his own right is a damn good boxer, victories over, chris eubank x2 and nigel benn x2.
Lamar Parks, a damn good boxer, no real names because the man never really got kick off his career when he was forced to retire after testing positive for HIV, only loss came by the hands of reggie johnson
    AFTER JONES
Julio Cesar Gonzalez who has wins over Montell Griffin, Dariusz Michalczweski and Glen Johnson

MIKE MCCALLUM(49-3-1) by yet another complete and utter dominating performance by roy jones(some people like to act like it was closer, but mccallum was seriously not landing anything) gave james toney a draw, majority decisions and unanimous in highly skillfull and eventful fights, and most say he won the 3rd fight against toney which was AFTER JONES(just to give jones a bit more credit for beating him soundly, because this guy even at 39 was no pushover)
    HE BEAT:
Ayub Kalule, hey...he beat Sumbu Kalambay
Julian Jackson the ko artist with victories over the likes of Terry Norris
Sumbu Kalambay who has defeated steve collins
Steve Collins who has defeated nigel benn and chris eubank x2

VIRGIL HILL(43-2) by KO, bodyshot that broke Hills rib(6'' 176 pound man)
    BEAT:
Farice Tiozzo x2 which is a damn good win considering the guy has victories over mccallum and michalczweski

Richard Hall(24-1), probabley roy jones best performance in terms of showing style and power, no big names, but an honarable mention for this iron chinned fighter with a huge heart, after taking a decisive and thorough beating from roy jones he goes on to pretty much school dariusz michalczweski not only once, but twice, unfortunantely the fight was stopped due to a huge swelling on halls eye

CLINTON WOODS(32-1) stopped in round 6.
    BEAT:
Glen Johnson a very tough fighter who beat antonio tarver, eric harding, roy jones and clinton woods himself, has had many disputable losses
Julio Cesra Gonzalez x2 who beat dariusz michalczweski, montell griffin and glen johnson

JOHN RUIZ(38-4-1) beat thoroughly by roy jones, was shook and completely outclassed by jones despite most of his losses being split decisions. Possibly roy jones most underrated win
    BEAT:
Evander Holyfield who has victories over mike tyson x2, buster douglas, george foreman, larry holmes, riddick bowe, michael moorer and hashim rahman
    Kirk Johnson took his zero
Hashim Rahman who beat monte barret, alfred cole, corrie sanders and lennox lewis
Andrew Golota(if people are giving tomasz adamek for beating on his fossil ruiz must get more love for this win)
NOTE: many believe to have beat nikolai valuev

JORGE FERNANDO CASTRO(70-3-2) by decisions, first guy to last the distance against the hard punching middleweight roy jones jnr. was beat soundly
    BEAT:
Reggie Johnson x2 who has beat Julio Cesar Gonzalez, Lamar Parks and Steve Collins
John David Jackson x2 with a win over reggie johnson
Roberto Duran with a win over sugar ray leonard, nuff said

VINNY PAZIENZA(40-5), he may have been blown up, but no-one else put a beating on him quit like roy jones did, mixing power, speed, utilizing the jab and just completely befuttiling pazienza and hitting the never quite mobile pazmanian devil at will
    BEAT(at 168):
Roberto Duran x2 with a win over sugar ray leonard
Dana Rosenblatt who beat terry norris

THOMAS TATE(29-2) who gave julian jackson all he could handle, known for having a solid chin, was completely startched by roy jones in round 2
    BEAT:
Merqui Sosa who gave everyone a hard time, lost by SD to James Toney, beat glenn thomas, glen johnson and segunda mercado
Omar Shieka who beat glen johnson

BERNARD HOPKINS(22-1)...........only decisely beaten by one man(roy jones jnr)
    BEAT:
    Kelly Pavlik
    Antonio Tarver
    John David Jackson
    Felix Trinidad
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Ronald Wright
    Glen Johnson

THULANI MALINGA(35-8), roy jones was the first to pop his iron chin, and from there it was solid, no longer iron
    BEAT:
Nigel Benn who beat gerald mcclellan
Robin Reid who musta beat some people, but i dunno who, apperently he's a good win

    JAMES TONEY(44-0) toney did'nt win a round i think...
    Merqui Sosa
    Mike Mccallum x2
    Michael Nunn
    Iran Barkley
    Reggie Johnson
    Glen Thomas
    Tim Littles
    Vassiliy Jirov
    Evander Holyfield

Those 2 KO losses tarnished his legacy badly.

everyone says jones fought these guys when they were either green, old or weight drained
but the truth is, no one has dominated them like he has, NOONE

toney was all smiles and was'nt breathing out his mouth till round 7, so james against jones as an example for a fighter that is weight drained is all wrong, jones vs tarver, now that's weight drained

          Jones ducked

          Steve Collins
          Chris Eubank
          Joe Calzaghe
          Nigel Benn

If Roy faced Calzaghe in his prime calz would of KO'd that glass chinned bum

Jones Jr and Calzaghe are great but ppl for whatever reason **** on their resumes and say the fought trash-men and **** like that. Total bs, both Calzaghe and Jones Jr fought lots of champions and former-champions. If you're fighting a former champion or a champion you are not crap.
